Art Update Term 4

Update

In art, I've been developing my logo, poster, double page spread, and a web page layout. So far I've only managed to finish the first three and I'm currently working on finishing my development for the web page layout and producing a final design for it.

Throughout my work, I've been using the same images but I've used them in different ways to connect my works together.

Panel Two Work Sheet

How many series of works are you planning?

- Web design page layout

-Magazine Spread

What can you tell me about how they extend upon your kaupapa?

- This type of work is good for my kaupapa because architecture firms usually have these types of work/website/poster/magazine to advertise/inform consumers.

What links can you tell me you are making to your artist models?

Barnbrook usually has magazine spreads and a website to advertise his work. Rodchenko has posters. The way Rodchenko uses geometric shapes is what I've taken from him and his use of white space. I've also implemented Barnbrooks more modern design.

What are your next steps?

-Work on poster

-Logo

-Web Design

-Blog

-Sketch

Art Update 2

The past week I've tried re planning my logo design since I was not satisfied with it. I wanted to change the colours because it doesn't fit with the soft colours with the poster that I've started.

I've also thought and changed a little of my brief since completely following Rodchenko's style I would have had to redo my poster.
I've tried out Gravit.io but the application is hard to work with and some of the tools needed the pro version of the app. I've also been planning layouts and other logo designs of different artists' styles in my art book.

Ill be working on making the thumbnail of the poster I've started on and what it will eventually look like.

Art Update

Throughout the year I've had to re check and re think my brief over and over again. I've changed a lot of stuff since my first one. I've changed my colour palettes so I'm not restricted to a certain type of colouring.
I've also gone back and tried to connect my artwork together. And also thought of how my artwork would fit my clients business.

Mood board remaking in Canva

For this week in art, we have started to remake our mood board in an online app called Canva because it looks tidier. I have split up my artist into 3 categories, Contemporary, Traditional, and Aoteroa.

Sequence and Series

We have looked at sequence and series in art and we were tasked to analyse a previous NCEA work and find the series in the work.  We looked at the image below and we looked at how the whole work works together and how the designer tied everything together, and how gestalt worked.  The designer managed to tie all the panels together by using the characters, colours, how the letters were written and how techniques were used for each of the designs. This work showed a great understanding of sequence and series because it fits the artist kaupapa all the way through his work, and that's why he got excellent for it.
