Lollies Maths 2019

Problem

On Monday, Sam, Sonny, and Sylvia share some lollies that they've been given.
Sonny was given twice as many lollies as Sam.
Sylvia was given three times as many lollies as Sam.

They are given the same number of lollies each day up
to (and including) Friday.
If Sylvia got a total of 18 lollies on Tuesday and
Wednesday, how many lollies did Sonny get for the
whole five days?

Sy = 18/2 = 9
9/3 = Sam=3
3 x 2 = Sonny=6
Sonny=6 x 5 =30

How many lollies would Sam need to get on Saturday if
he wanted to have 39 lollies altogether?

We started on Monday so we did 3 x 6 = 18 + 21 = 39

Health 2019

We are learning about Hauora in health the spiritual well-being side of it.
Spiritual well-being is all about your beliefs, your identity and values, what you believe in. We have learnt a lot of stuff and did activities, wrote down stuff that identifies us, we also did a random act of kindness where we have to send a message to someone complementing them.

Home Ec 2019

1. What we did

Last Friday we made Chicken and Rice Patties - the rice and chicken was pre-cooked to quicken up the process for us.
We kept our chicken and vegetables separated so it wouldn't cross contaminate.
We mixed all the ingredients together and put them in the oven to cook them.
I was the person who got the ingredients and sometimes my group switch roles.

2. What we learnt

1.) First thing I learnt is that the key temperature for chicken is 75 degrees in the thickest part. Bacteria like to be in anything over than 60 degrees so anything over than that will kill them.

2.) We need to clean ourselves first before we can cook any food and we need to clean all the boards and clean the table to prevent bacteria from getting to our food.

3.) We need to use separate boards for cutting chicken and vegetable because chicken has salmonella in it and the food will cross contaminate.

Social Studies 2019

What are you learning so far?

We are learning about human rights in Social Studies and we are also learning about the story of Iqbal a Pakistani child slave.

What is the most interesting thing you have learnt?

The most interesting thing I have learnt so far is that there are so many human rights that different people have to take care of a different section of a part of human rights.
There is also 30 Universal Human Rights which include; we are born free and equal, to not discriminate, the right to life and so much more.

Explain what your work is and how it links to the topic?

We are learning about the story of Iqbal and writing a SEEL paragraph of it and it links back to the topic of how many human rights are being broken and how there are so many child slaves in the world who can't enjoy their childhood.
People who take care of Human Rights can only do so much and they can't control everything.
