My SEXXXY Analysis

Music was cleverly used in the “Walk The Line” trailer. We see this, or rather hear this being used intelligently when the scenes are transitioning so does the music. Especially the part where Johnny Cash sang “down by wild desire” and it transitioned to scenes where he loses everything. This signifies for us, the audience, that music has a huge part in the movie. The director did this to show that music in the film was used to convey what the person was feeling or what was currently happening to that person. This worked well with the camera transitioned because the transitions gave us a physical image of the song being played. This reminds me of how the cow from the barnyards singing a song about him not backing down and then proceeding to beat the invading coyotes with his guitar.

An over-the-shoulder shot was used brilliantly in “Walk The Line”.This is demonstrated in a scene where Johnny and June are in the scenes together. One of the scenes was when Johnny and June were talking in the cafe. (saloon?) This shows us, the audience, that there will be a connection between the two. The director did this to show us that there is an understanding between the two when they were talking. This worked well with the dialogues between the two since it further shows us that they are understanding each other. This aspect can be compared to two-shot since the use of two-shot can also mean a connection between two characters.
